About Karl Milkereit

Karl Milkereit has been coaching since 1993, starting at Valparaiso Swim Club in Indiana before moving to Illinois and Patriot Aquatic Club. He was at Patriot Aquatic Club from 2002 until 2015. While with Patriot Aquatic Club, he coached swimmers ranging from Novice, to State Champions, and Olympic Trials Qualifiers. During his tenure with Patriot Aquatic Club, the team won 5 Illinois Swimming Short Course Senior State Titles, a Central Zone Short Course Sectional Title, and had the USA Swimming Short Course Junior National Champions in the 800 Free Relay. Along with his coaching duties, he was in charge of running meets for Patriot Aquatic Club. Over his 13 years with the team he was Meet Director for three Illinois Swimming Age Group State Championships and two Illinois Swimming Senior State Championships. He believes that every swimmer is unique in their own way and need to be coached as such. The group needs to function as a team unit but when working on stroke technique and race strategy, an individual approach is key. Karl is a graduate of Wabash College where he was a member of the swim team and team captain his senior year.
